A science academy for 3 to 8-year-olds

Kide Science helps kids get excited about the natural sciences through play-based learning

Our proven pedagogical methods are based on rigorous academic research conducted at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Our pedagogical approach is supervised by Jenni Vartiainen, who is a leading researcher in the field of play-based science education.

Children get to explore the wonders of the world around them by exploring, experimenting and observing. Join us on a thrilling science adventure that has long-lasting effects.

Children are born experimenters

Children are naturally curious. They get to know the world around them through exploration, trial and questioning. Kide Science supports children in their natural ability to wonder and question.

The club uses stories and drama to draw out kids’ curiosity towards natural phenomena. Every child will get to experience what it feels like to successfully experiment as they solve scientific puzzles and find answers to their own questions.

Play-based learning for natural sciences

Children learn naturally through play. This is why our academy is all play all the time: the instructors use dramatic devices to immerse all participants in a game of scientific play-pretend. By playing, children naturally adopt ways of thinking and doing that are scientific in their nature. This supports the participants in learning skills that are essential to understanding natural sciences.

We put children at the heart

Everything we do starts with the individual child. The children are actively involved in all stages of the inquiry, from setting the research topic to planning methods and conducting the experiment. By being involved throughout, kids learn the important skills of scientific inquiry and thinking. We encourage children to actively take part in the group, strengthening their communication skills along the way. For Kide Science, those joyful ’I got it!’ moments are the most important. We want every child to experience the joy of discovering something new for themselves.
